I am amazed at how good it looks and sounds, even on the tiny screen.“ALMOST EVERY FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLE OF LIFE can be expressed in two opposite ways. If for no other reason than to poke around some of the ages as a break from work. I do have Myst, RealMyst, etc but had to have this as well. I bought it yesterday for my iPhone ad I'm stunned. People who hear the buzz and are curious.ģ. People looking for a nostalgic run through an old game they miss.Ģ. Through 328 reviews- an astonishing number in itself, nearly all of the reviewers are giving it a huge thumbs up.ġ. Myst is one of the top selling games on the iPhone since its release, targeting up to #10 or so last evening.Ģ. I can't imagine playing myst on my iphone where battery life is so scarce, screen is small, awful controls.yuck, that's so retarded.ġ. I agree iPhone is really cool and all.but adventure games? they take lot of time and patience to complete. #Zen bound 2 mouse cursor missing download#Let me get this straight. You actually think People want to play "Adventure games" like myst on iPhone? No, they buy it because it's fashionable to download junk from iTunes store. What's to complain about then? kīeing broad minded on this one won't do me any good. There's practically only seconds of load time from 'desktop' to game. Oh, and for those of you complaining about not being able to take notes while playing it on the mobile devices, just save the game and jump back in after you jotted the notes down. It's up there with other iPhone/iPod Touch puzzle games like Zen Bound and Ancient Frog. Myst is an ideal game to play late into the night in bed or on a long train commute, primarily because it offers a slow paced, contemplative challenge. I myself haven't played Myst first hand in my iPhone (once on PC, both the original static 2D and the real time 3D realMyst was enough for me, after which the game is boring as hell) but for first time players it looks to be an engrossing, novel maiden voyage. Whether the decision to not do realMyst was based on Cyan's laziness and refusal to invest resources to port remains open to debate.īut it seems (and correct me if I'm wrong) that if the iPhone and iPod Touch can handle fast moving real time 3D racers they can also handle very slow real time 3D first person landscapes.Īlso, I argue it's more marketable to do realMyst because it showcases the iPhone and iPod Touch's power to give us real time 3D, certainly a more attractive lure for new generation mobile gamers who want to get the most out of their device's capabilities. Personally my strongest disappointment is that they did not do realMyst instead, considering the Apple devices are capable of delivering this kind of real time 3D or this kind. It's just simply because the iPhone and iPod Touch are engineered to handle such a game and more. Loading times are practically zero, transitions are smooth and elegant, as you can see by watching the review. The mouse pointer has been replaced by.your fingertip. You'll see that it works as beautifully on the Apple devices as it did on the high end PCs it was originally released on back in 1993, if not more so. I'm surprised that those of you questioning this game's efficacy on the iPhone/iPod Touch haven't looked it up on YouTube, so here you go:
